COUNTING SHEEP BY THE LOUE RIVER

The farm of Old Leinonen is located in the lively village of Loue in the municipality of Tervola, halfway between Rovaniemi and Kemi, about 60 kilometres from each. The farm stands on the banks of the Loue River, and the courtyard is part of the magnificent rural scenery of Loue. You can get there by bus from the south and from Rovaniemi, walking about 1 km to the farm. By train to Tervola railway station, from where you can take a taxi (14 km).

Chambers of a handsome stern house built in 1847. 4 beds in two chambers, extra beds can be arranged. It can accommodate 1 to 4 people, with extra beds if needed. There is also a kitchen, equipped with a fridge and electric hob. Toilet and also an outhouse in the yard. Shower and sauna in a separate building (shower shifts agreed in advance with the hosts) and a traditional sauna by the river which is free to use whenever you want. At your disposal a rowing boat, fishing rod and a bicycle.

Animals: Finnish sheep. Other animal friends: indigenous chickens and roosters, quails, rabbits, cats and Icelandic sheepdogs. On the beach pastures you can spot waterfowl, waders, owls and hawks.
